A few words of gratitude...
To my mom who really did teach me everything I needed to know about cooking. From picking out the freshest vegetables, using a wok, and shopping on a budget.
To my dad who brought home midnight snacks of black bean sauce escargot for me when I was two while we were still leaving on Green Street. And for all the yu chee tong he still provides for me today! Count on dad to experience the more exotic side of Chinese cuisine.
To my brother for his love of salty snacks and Chinatown/Downtown bargain bite recommendations. He makes a mean bacon-wrapped skewered shrimp.
To my husband and partner in food adventures for finding the tastiest Taiwanese restaurant, understanding why I go grocery shopping more than once a week, and indulging me in all the most luxurious meals I've ever eaten -- even when we really couldn't afford it.
To my extended family for all the big home-cooked meals and laughs.
